The start of a new year always brings forth changes. The book I’ve been working on is going through a huge change. Last week I began planning the second installment of Warriors and Kings. After months of trying to produce a new story idea, I realized that Warriors and Kings had more stories to tell. I’ve never had this feeling with a book before. None of the previous books I’ve written needed a series.
I have never authored a book series and although I have tried it just didn’t feel right at the time. But for some reason, this feels right. I missed my characters and I’m excited to be able to write about them again. Last week I was gearing up to upload the book for free on Inkitt.com but then I hit a bit of a snag. The book was formatted in such a terrible way that I had to stop. It looked horrible and I had to delete the book from their website. I desperately want to publish this book using KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) like I usually do, but there’s been a delay in getting a decent and affordable book cover. I created one on Canva.com but doubt I can use it for KDP.
Since this book is going to be a three-book series, I’ve decided to go ahead and self-publish it with KDP. This is going to be a lot of work and I want it to look good. I can’t tell you when it’s finally going to be released yet because it’s still up in the air but there are no deadlines when self-publishing. All I can tell you is that it will be soon. I am currently rereading book 1 while battling the winter blues and depression to make sure it doesn’t need any further editing. Something just told me to do this and it hasn’t been easy. Sometimes I want to just say to hell with this and throw in the towel, but God gives me the strength to keep going every day. Thank you for your patience and I hope everyone has a great week.
Until next time…
