Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! This was always one of my favorite holidays because mothers always go beyond the call of duty to do things for their kids. It’s our day to shine. The best job I’ve ever had was being a mom to my son Christopher. My mom and I have always been very close, but sadly her dementia has progressed to the point where she no longer knows who I am, and she doesn’t talk very much, if at all anymore. She is in the last stage of this disease, and it’s been challenging to see her like this. I miss the way she was. She was a strong, vibrant, fun-loving, and happy woman who always helped me no matter what was going on in her life. She always looked out for everyone and loved freely. She was incredibly generous and the perfect wife and mother. We have so many memories that I hope I will never forget, and I love her so much.

Now it’s time to update you on the progression of my new novel, which still does not have a title yet. The first and second draft is complete. I am currently working on the third draft, but it’s slow going. I have to add new scenes and get rid of some. I’m not happy with how this book turned out, so I will be spending the next few months trying to fix it and turn it into something worth reading. You guys deserve that.

I have been having some problems lately, and it does affect the way I write. I’d rather not disclose those problems because they are personal, but I tend to be a worrier. Things are changing for the better, but if I can’t get this book up to par, I will most likely not publish it and take a break from writing until I find a story worth telling.
