Trying to Get Inspired

Hey everyone, Happy Sunday!

My current work in progress is coming along very well and I am hoping to be finished with it sometime in the Fall of 2022.

With all of the disturbing and horrifying things going on around the world, it’s very difficult to get inspired as an artist. You watch the news or read things on the internet and it makes you feel kind of hopeless. You start to ask yourself if there’s anything good happening in the world.

The worst thing that an Author or any other artist can do, is to fall into a daily routine. Yes, I know. I have a problem with that one myself. If life seems boring it’s because we allow it to become boring. We aren’t doing anything new and different so it’s going to cause feelings of depression, boredom, and feeling like you are in a rut. How do we expect to come up with new ideas for anything? It’s kind of hard to do that if you watch the same crap on tv every day, listen to the same songs being played on the radio every hour or do the same mundane job day after day.

Now and then we have to change things up. Eat something we’ve never eaten before, introduce ourselves to a new genre of movies or music, maybe try different types of books or learn a new hobby. I’ve always wanted to learn how to swim or go jet skiing but never did it and I regret that. There are a lot of things to do but sometimes we have a hard time taking that first step.

If you have the money and the time I strongly suggest traveling. My family and I use to hop into my dad’s car and hit the road every summer. We’ve been to Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, New Orleans, Cleveland, Michigan, and even Canada. Imagine what a different change of scenery or culture can do for your creativity and meeting new people along the way. I know the Pandemic has made traveling difficult for many and I am hoping that things get better as far as that is concerned. Driving is probably the best option for staying safe.

Even though the world around us is not as good as it once was and some current problems have erupted in other countries that we are worried about like the war in Ukraine, we have to keep going forward. There were problems before the war and the pandemic and believe me there will be problems after it’s over. But I must say that there is one thing all countries have in common that I love, and that is we know how to persevere and keep going no matter what happens to us. We are all fighters but at some point, I wish we could learn to fight together instead of fighting each other. Because we all need each other to help make this planet as great as I know it can be.

Until next time.
