Why I changed My Book Cover

I know that a lot of you are probably wondering why I changed the cover of my book The Blood Oath. I ordered a copy of the original version for myself and for my mother and let’s just say I was not pleased with it. The front cover was darker than the original picture and the back cover was difficult to read. I don’t understand why Createspace approved it if it was hard to read. Always order a proof of your book before publishing. I didn’t and that was my mistake.

At first, I was going to just let it go because I revised that cover over and over and over again. This was a cover that I designed myself but it was hard to get the dpi just right and I don’t have photoshop. So after wrestling with the decision to change it to one of Createspace’s premade book covers, I finally caved and decided to do just that and republish. I really liked my book cover but sometimes you just have to let things go. A bad book cover can hurt book sales and you really want to have a professional looking cover for your book. I’m even offering it for free with the new cover from until Tuesday 2/7/2017 in case those who bought the book with the old cover would like to have one with the new cover. It’s also a nice way of gaining new readers as well.

The next book is still being written and I will let you know when it will be published. It may take longer than the previous books because I want to go with traditional publishing for the next book. I will keep you updated on my progress. Until next time.
